Whale befriended Tricky while visiting Spain, which explains why they're touring together. (Soundwise, Tricky and Whale are nothing alike.) They are a rock/pop band from Sweden.   The group was originally The Southern Whale Cult and even went through a phase of being called Orca before ending up with the current name of The Whale. Even rockier than the history of their name are the musical success and politics of the members. Right now Whale is composed of Cia, Henrik, Heikki, Jorgen, and Jon.   Until 1995, the reviews of their albums everywhere were pretty much the same-- "fuckin' awful!!" but "Hey, they've got great pop potential". It was in 1995 they produced the hit "Hobo Humpin Slobo Babe" and suddenly caught the attention of MTV Europe and signed on with a Virgin Records subdivision.   Recently, Whale has put out a new album: All Disco Dance Must End in Broken Bones
